Engineering and supply for utility-scale solar

What we do

Structural engineering and supply chain

Vektro Energy produces the specialist studies, design criteria and signed documentation a photovoltaic project needs to become financeable, and manages the procurement, importation and delivery of the material that design specifies.

We work with developers, EPC contractors and asset owners through the stages before construction and across supply.

Service areas

Engineering and logistics

Engineering

Eight structural and geotechnical disciplines: design bases, wind and seismic loads, foundations, support structures, signed calculation reports, field testing and structural monitoring.

See the engineering disciplines

Logistics and supply

Procurement, importation, customs clearance, equipment leasing, spare parts and specialist technical personnel, working from the specification our own engineering issues.

Field testing and structural monitoring

How a foundation behaves depends on the soil it is driven into. We drive profiles on site, apply simulated service loads and measure the pile's actual displacement.

Field results are compared against the values assumed in design and fed back into the calculation report.

Pull Out Test field testing

We assess the bearing capacity and mechanical performance of piles and foundations across soil types, with high-precision measuring equipment and specialist technical personnel.

Structural studies and monitoring

We instrument and monitor the plant's steel structures. Non-invasive pile studies detect tilt, deformation, vibration and corrosion.

Supply

From calculation report to site

A calculation report specifies a steel grade, a length and a corrosion coating. We procure, import and deliver that material, with documented traceability for every line item from order to receipt on site.

01SpecificationThe requirement comes from the calculation report.
02QualificationSuppliers assessed on their capacity to meet the specification.
03FabricationFabrication tracking and schedule control against the project programme.
04CustomsDocumentation, classification and customs clearance.
05TransitInternational coordination into Mexico and Latin America.
06VerificationOn-site check of what was delivered against what was specified.
The sector

Solar energy in Latin America

Latin America has one of the best solar resources on the planet and some of the most demanding terrain and seismic conditions. Building at utility scale here calls for site-specific engineering and a supply chain with controlled lead times.

20 GWof photovoltaic capacity installed in Latin America in 2024 alone: 4.4% of the global total.
148countries operate solar farms, close to 10,000 plants capturing radiation across large areas.
2,700trees planted per year: the environmental equivalent of a single megawatt of solar generation.

Agrivoltaic projects

Agrivoltaics generates solar power and grows crops on the same land. We design both sides of the project across its six variables: solar, agronomic, structural, electrical, environmental and financial, through a six-stage methodology.
